After considering whether to stay private or not,
I decided to open our blog up! There were many
people I was forgetting to invite from friends and
family so now it is open to all. Hopefully I won't
regret this, I don't really want comments from people
I don't know, but we will give this a try!

An easy way to keep from getting spammed is to enable the "captcha" function in your settings. Also, you can make it so that people can not search for you using a search engine, i.e., Google. Just look at your privacy settings. And you can make sure not to allow anonymous comments either. Those are some things that I've tried, and I've never gotten anything rude or gross. BTW, I love your new pictures!

I think it's great that you are opening up your blog. I'm glad that we started out with an open blog, we were able to get in touch with a lot of people that way. Besides, you can always go back to private if you decide you want to. You can also set this blog up as a link with your contact info for a private blog in the future--which is what we did with ours. I've actually had quite a few people send me requests because they saw the contact page.
